Customization Overview

Using highly flexible and powerful categorization you can standardize information on items, files, and request and change processes. Define and enforce numbering conventions that have as much intelligence as required by the business. Collaborative workflow processes are entirely under your control. You determine the users, roles, routing sequence, and approval requirements for the various types of requests and changes you need. Regardless of how you customize Arena—whether you utilize “Smart Layout” default views, add categorization and custom attributes, or leverage drag-and-drop customization tools—your changes will be preserved in future Arena upgrades.

• Access control: Extend role-specific access to employees, partners, and suppliers without the headaches and security vulnerabilities inherent in configuring behind-the-firewall user access.
• IP-based Access Control: Enhance your control by defining specific IP address ranges from which users may access your workspace.
• Numbering schemes: Replicate your existing item numbering format, or develop new systems based on Arena’s editable numbering schemes. Customize and standardize numbering schemes for parts, files, suppliers, change orders, and more.
• Custom processes for request-based workflows: Create custom business processes to support workflow-based requests, such as part number requests, product enhancements, manufacturability requests, and document change requests.
• Custom processes for change-order based workflows: Create custom business processes to support workflow-based change orders, such as engineering change orders, manufacturing change orders, and document change orders. Configure an unlimited number of custom attributes, and assign custom deferral and resolution codes for your request management process. Choose administrator-defined, user-defined, or automatic routing.

• Custom disposition fields: Set your own specific fields for inventory disposition requirements such as location and material status.
• Import and export: Easily import and export category-specific product data using multiple formats (.csv and .pdx) or configure templates for repeated imports.
