IndustryWeek Names Arena PLM as Notable Innovation Among the Publication’s Annual Technologies of the Year for 2005

Leading manufacturing publication cites Arena PLM availability as a service, easy implementation with no costly IT requirements as benefits for manufacturers

MENLO PARK, Calif., December 7, 2005 — Arena Solutions, the leading provider of on-demand product lifecycle management (PLM) software for manufacturers of any size, today announced that IndustryWeek, a leading publication for senior manufacturing executives, has named Arena PLM among its list of Notable Innovations for 2005. As part of the publication’s annual “Technologies of the Year” issue, the editors of IndustryWeek make special note of technology innovations that are important for manufacturing companies. Inclusion of Arena PLM in this list is another among many indicators in 2005 that Arena Solutions is the leading provider of on-demand PLM.

IndustryWeek’s Technology and Innovation Awards program celebrates the primary drivers of the world’s economic progress - innovation and technologies. “We’re honored to be recognized for offering an innovative solution for PLM,” said Michael Topolovac, chief executive officer of Arena Solutions. “This award is an important endorsement of the value our on-demand PLM solution delivers to the manufacturing and supply chain community - unprecedented efficiency and collaboration at a fraction of the cost, risk and complexity historically associated with traditional PLM solutions.”

Arena Solutions has garnered considerable industry recognition throughout 2005. Manufacturing Business Technology magazine recently named Arena Solutions to its annual list of 40 Emerging Software Vendors in the magazine’s October 2005 issue, saying that Arena is “in position to become the Salesforce.com of the PLM world.” Arena Solutions was also awarded the prestigious 2005 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 Award in that magazine’s June/July 2005 issue.

Arena Solutions’ software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model removes all barriers to adoption associated with traditional enterprise software, and requires no software installations or downloads, no maintenance, no costly IT deployments, and no expensive upfront cash outlays. This enables manufacturers to easily implement a robust PLM solution within hours and is one of the key reasons IndustryWeek included Arena in its 2005 list of Notable Innovations.

Arena Solutions serves manufacturers of any size, from start-ups to multinationals, in medical device, high tech and electronics, consumer packaged goods, industrial equipment, and other discrete manufacturing categories.

Arena PLM enables manufacturing companies to share - in real time - a single version of the product record, facilitating design and engineering collaboration in diverse industries such as high tech electronics, medical devices, and consumer products. With an easy to use application that can be accessed on-demand, everyone in the global outsourced supply chain - from OEMs to their contract manufacturers, outsourced designers and suppliers - is able to work more efficiently, speed time-to-market, and more capably address market pressures.
